Our Story

The deep-rooted passion and legacy of Travers Cattle Company can be traced back to Craig's childhood, where he learned invaluable skills and values from those before him that have shaped him into a dedicated multi-generational farmer and rancher. His unwavering commitment to the land and animals, instilled in him from a young age, has allowed him to cultivate a successful and fulfilling way of life that he now passes down to future generations, ensuring that his family's heritage and love for ranching endures.

The journey of the ranch owners, Craig and Heather Travers, to expand their operation to include direct beef sales grew from a simple desire to provide their family with quality, trustworthy beef.  That goal has now evolved into a commitment to sharing their passion with others. Since 1986, Craig's dedication to raising cattle with care and preserving traditional standards shines through in their promise to offer home-raised, antibiotic, and hormone-free beef that undergoes minimal processing. With a focus on open pastures and ensuring that their cattle are born and finished exclusively on their ranch, customers can rest assured of the quality and integrity behind every product from Travers Cattle Company.

Just as their family continues to grow, so does their legacy!

When the World Stopped By Our Ranch

Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming traveling content creators to Travers Cattle Company. Their journey has taken them across communities, cultures, and businesses around the world, and we were honored that one of their stops was right here on our ranch in Mart, Texas.

For our family, ranching is more than a business—it is a legacy. What began generations ago has grown into a commitment to raising quality beef while preserving the values and traditions that have shaped our family for decades. Today, that same commitment guides everything we do as we raise cattle that are born, raised, and finished on our ranch.

During their visit, our guests spent time learning about life on a working cattle ranch, meeting our family, and seeing firsthand the care that goes into raising our cattle. They experienced what many people never have the opportunity to see—the early mornings, the responsibility of caring for livestock, and the deep connection between ranchers and the land they steward.

One of the things we appreciated most was their genuine curiosity. They asked thoughtful questions, listened to our story, and helped share a glimpse of rural Texas life with people who may never set foot on a cattle ranch themselves.

As ranchers, we believe it's important for consumers to know where their food comes from and to have confidence in the families raising it. Opportunities like this help bridge the gap between producer and consumer, creating understanding and appreciation for the work that goes into every meal.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our story and thankful to our visitors for helping tell it.

We invite you to watch their video and experience Travers Cattle Company through their eyes.
